The Wedding Weekend

I have been a bit absent from the blogging world but for a very good reason. This weekend, my niece got married. It wasn't a large wedding but what fun we had! The ceremony was beautiful and simple...I seem to tear up at weddings no matter who is getting married! The best part is the whole family getting together and having a great time. In this neck of the woods, it is all about the wedding dance afterwards. Everybody lets their hair hang down...a real down home celebration!
The bride and my sister's granddaughter

The women of the family

My brother, the spoon man. His record is nine at one time. Just imagine, he's one of the top vascular and trauma surgeons. Do you think he knows how to have a good time?

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. His grandson even knows how to hang spoons!

What wedding dance isn't complete without the YMCA song!

Some of you may recognize my daughter, NodtoMod Vintage. This was her first family wedding and I don't think she knew what was in store. Victory after catching the bouquet!

My shy..and 6'6" tall nephew...even got coerced on to the dance floor..

Even my Mother, all 87 years, waltzed with my brother...

Spoon man, my brother, gave me a twirl around the floor..a terrific dancer btw...

The best sisters one could ever ask for...

Mom and daughter. Dressed to kill with dresses from NodtoMod Vintage. Zach is wearing a 1940's Jonathon Logan and she outfitted me in a 1950's Gigi Young..available in her shop. It's great having a closet full of vintage to grab and go!

Let's just say, my feet are recovering from blisters! Not a problem as it was so much fun...kind of hard to get back into the Monday routine. So here's to a happy Monday and a great week!

OMGosh! It looks like such a wonderful gathering. Weddings in our neck of the woods are much the same...let's get the nuptials over and get to the dance! Both you and Zach (Nod2Mod Vintage) look absolutely divine. It doesn't hurt that the clothes have simply gorgeous women to hang on, either! BTW...What?! No Jeff???

Hugs!

Alicia: Looks like the family had a joyous time. You are just as beautiful as I imagined and your daughter is stunning too.

Good to know trauma/vascular surgeons have an outlet for all the stress they must endure. That was adorable - does he do any tricks with medical instruments?

Take care of those feet!

Both you and your daughter have amazing fashion sense. I love what you were both wearing.

The wedding sounds like fun, I think you should hire spoon man out for other peoples parties. He'd be a big hit.
