A Wave of Thought

Clark Little, an amazing surf photographer

I can't believe that summer is almost over. Seems like only yesterday that it was -30 outside. So my thoughts are at the beach...listening to the waves and feeling the saltwater spray on my face. Want to join me?

Synchronicity at work again. I've been looking at "Waves" on Amazon & ran across Clark Little's work on the web earlier in the summer. I could get lost in gorgeous photos like this. Perfect for a hot summer day!

It went so fast, didn't it? I will gladly join you!
Packing up my beach bag right now - especially if we are going to THAT beach! Wow, amazing shots - you must be an amazing surfer to have captured those pics!! ;)

Fantastic pictures! Thanks for sharing. Not a lot of beaches in Kansas, definately smaller waves. We call them white caps. And the only saltwater is what drips off you from the triple digit temps we've been having. :)

Wow, those images are amazing.

I also cannot believe that summer is almost over. Usually I am excited for fall fashion this time of year, and I cannot even look at it right now.

I love the ocean. I grew up in Miami, Florida and actually owned a surfboard as a teenager, lol! Not that we had any big waves, but you could catch a wave and ride into the beach. What fun that was!

After spending 14 hours school clothes shopping with my 13 year old daughter, sitting in a busy mall with my chin resting on the back of one of the benches, my eyes rolling to the back of my head and pleading with my limbs to carry me to the car, I NEED A BEACH!

One of my very favorite places to be and sounds to hear are found sitting on a beach...listening to the sound of crystal clear, azure blue water... So soothing and relaxing (I even love the sound of my bathwater running!). I think these gorgeous waves of water touch something elemental within us and their sheer volume is so awe-inspiring.

However, today, with the flooding here in Louisville, my hearts are with those who are dealing with miles of muddy water...in their basements, living rooms and yards and are facing a huge cleanup. Ohio River water is seldom pretty, even less so when it's not where its supposed to be...it's usually muddy and only casts waves upon the shore when a giant barge steams up or down it...or during storms.

I'll take the sand in my crack and blue water variety any day! Thanks for the beautiful pictures... I'll bring the Planter's Punch, Grilled Crab & Avocado Salad & a big fluffy blanket & meet you there, honey!

Cheers!
Terri

Oh no - I was going to complain that summer was almost over. But I am choosing to look at the bright side. I won't have to weed the garden for much longer! :)

Oh....yes yes yes!!! I wanna jump in the water!!! Those photos are amazing - how fun to catch a shot like that!!! I'm not addicted to my camera or anything...shhhhhhh.
I love Fall...love love love it. This summer has been a huge challenge for so many reasons. Honestly..I was feeling kinda sad about it though - summer ending. I have not been able to do any summer things - except tie dying of course. The camera has been fun too. Just seems like it flew. That and Nonni is off to school this fall...my last chickie and I am struggling with that one. Sigh...lets go surfin' hon!!!! Hugs, Sarah
awesome photos! we'll be in Kauai next week, i can't wait!

Gorgeous photos. I, myself have had the good fortune to shoot through a tube just like the second from the top on the Island of Kauai bodysurfing! Only my wave tube had a rainbow shining inside of it too....so magical :)

You have reminded me of some incredibly happy days!

Oh, those pictures are amazing. They literally made me stomach ache, yearn for the ocean. I love Fall, but then winter, it sometimes lasts so long. I think I will save one of those pictures to my desk top :) I can literally hear the ocean by looking at those pictures! thanks!

Yes, summer is so close to over. I actually go pick up my classroom keys tomorrow. Then, things get crazy for a month or so. I really do love back to school, though. Everything is so very exciting and new.
I'm right there at the beach with you, dear Alicia! I just posted some pictures of a little uninhabited (by humans anyway) island this morning. Although, there are nowhere near as beautiful as these amazing photographs!
I'm a day late - as usual - but I am there with you. Can we stay the weekend?

Gorgeous pictures. I live so close to the beach, but traffic makes it seem so far away! I don't go enough. But maybe this weekend, I will go and watch the waves. Dip my toes. Thanks for the beautiful start to the day!
