Oh...to be a Hummer

Finally...the boys and girls of summer are back! Brilliant, tiny, precision-flying little jewels. Oh, how I wish I could bottle that energy just living on sugar water....

Gorgeous photos. I do love hummingbirds. They are so fast -- they are gone before I get a good look!

I agree with Snap about the photos. I would wish that one or two would grow sturdy enough to fly over to northern Europe to pay me a visit.

I live on pepsi?? This is chemical sugar water :-) Some feel that I also buzz around school.

I love the hummers! I spotted one a few weeks ago. No sightings this week. I do have my annuals out for them to enjoy. Maybe this weekend - I will see one.

Beautiful photos. I posted pics on Sunday of my hummers and several asked me how I got them to share also...sometimes they do but most time they fight. They are beautiful birds.

Hi sweetie!

First, thanks for your sweet comments about my "little angels"! :)

My Texan hubby and I LOVE the hummers!!! We don't see them here in Houston until the late summer. And my whole garden is full of plants that they and the butterflies love. So, it sounds and looks like an airport here during August! :)

Have a beautiful week! xo...deb

I put in a butterfly/hummingbird garden two years ago and I love when they come back each year.

Hmmmm...love sugary sweet things, eat constantly, move from place to place, flapping my wings very fast, but accomplishing very little, other than eat...I MUST BE A HUMMINGBIRD!!

They are so beautiful, their iridescent jewel tones picking up rays of light and sending them back to us in prisms of color.

Lesson learned...do NOT wear a bright pink bow in the top of your pony tail...an otherwise serene afternoon will suddenly sound like Apocalypse Now, as they dive for the bow, sounding like small Blackhawk Helicopters!

Thanks!

I remember when we used to get hummingbirds all the time when we lived in KY.
They are so lovely! I miss them.
