Guilty Pleasures

Oh...I have been a very, very bad blogger of late and have not been visiting my usual haunts. Instead, I turned off my computer and indulged myself in some simple, guilty pleasures.

I got up early, watched the sunrise with my cup of jo, and listened to the birds waking...

Even got to watch a momma wren feeding her little babes..

Took a long, slow walk down a country road...

Watched a farmer seeding his soybean crop...You can't imagine the number of seagulls following a planter! The cacophony and antics are amazing to hear and watch....

Took a long afternoon nap....

Had a root beer float for dinner...nothing else..pure indulgence

Watched the moon dance with the stars...even made a wish...

TODAY

Today...Dignity, honor, respect and a day of remembrance is all that they ask of us. Above all...they were Americans. Today, I will give thanks to them for the freedoms I enjoy...my guilty pleasures.

Happy Memorial Day!

I have never had a root beer float, but it looks delicious. Sometimes I want to skip dinner and go straight for dessert too ;)

When the season changes and everything comes alive, it's hard to sit at a computer long enough to read or write anything with all those fun things to do. Sounds kind of like what I've been doing. I'm quite jealous of your bird's nest. The robins nested in the neighbor's yard this year so I can hear them, but not see them.
Wonderful post!
Thank you

What a wonderful post...all too soon we forget the supreme sacrifice many have made for our freedoms...thank you for sharing your thoughts, I couldn't believe how quiet it was this morning, I'm always up with the chickens, but my 6 acres borders a four-lane, so peace is fleeting...but it gave time to pause and think on my front porch, in my old swing, with my cup o joe...it is good to be an American...and I'm thankful!!!

Thank you!

Beautiful photos. Isn't it awesome that bloggers seem to acquire a keen need to photograph things that we may have not even noticed before. I even photograph food which drives my husband crazy. I go around with my camera saying "oh I have to get that picture for my blog"! Also, we Canadians appreciate the American military as well as our army who keeps us safe.
