Boylerpf Tuesday's Picks...Chic Shawls

It's that time of year when you don't really need a heavy coat but something just to keep away the chill. I have always been a fan of the shawl scarf. You can wear them around your shoulders, over jeans, a dress...just about anything and have a chic look. I've worn them as tops and even wrapped around the waist of a pair of pants...just to add color. My favorite material is challis...soft and warm without being stifling. Add a little sass with fringe and wear a piano scarf from the Victorian days! The possibility is limitless. The French know how to wear scarves and perhaps because of their eclectic fashion sense, they are a favorite. Check them out and don't say no before you try one!

Hope your Tuesday is wicked wonderful!!

Super post! Shawls are one of the most versatile, yet underutilized part of many ladies wardrobe...from a quick halter top to even a turban (yes! Turban!) their myriad uses just seem to evaporate in favor of more structured pieces... There's nothing sexier than a backless dress framed with a to-die-for sinuous shawl draped from the crook of the elbows...with today's resurgence of the maxi dress and boho fashion, these should be finding new life in a big way. I'm going to dig thru some of mine now...thanks for the reminder!

I think shawls are great too. I wore one w/ a dress to a wedding this weekend and it was the perfect amount of coverage.

Hi from the UK!

Lovely article! Thanks so much for picking my vintage Italian scarf for your blog post! Oh how I remember those CHALLIS days of the 80s! The Europeans have always loved scarves and know how to creatively accesorize with them. In the UK, men & women both wear them all year round!

Love your blog!
