Civil War Era Snake Locket..Rare Fab!

Doctor? Perhaps. Gorgeous 1860's Victorian 10K gold locket & necklace. The symbol looks like an early caduceus but then again, the Victorians loved symbolism and the snake was everlasting. Fab no matter what!

Alicia,

Beautiful locket and chain! I think this would have been a Victorian memorial locket. The wings often were used to symbolize death and the passing of the soul and of course the snake represented love, usually romantic, but not always.

If you ever decide not to sell it, I'd be happy to wear it for you and keep it warm. :-)
